Cookie Policy

Effective 3 October 2026

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies (such as your browser’s local storage) that Measure, operated by Maven Innovation Ltd, uses on measure.co. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy. In short: a few essential cookies keep you signed in, and product analytics only run if you say yes. We use no advertising cookies and we do not sell personal data.

1. Your choices

The first time you visit, a small banner asks whether we may use analytics. Declining is as easy as accepting, and the site works the same either way. You can change your mind at any time:

  • Browser signals. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a refusal of analytics and do not show the banner. You can still opt in later from cookie settings.
  • Browser controls. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the essential cookies below will stop sign-in from working.
  • Withdrawing consent removes the analytics identifier from your device and stops further collection straight away. Data already collected is handled under our Privacy Policy and can be deleted on request.

2. Essential cookies and storage (no consent needed)

These are strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for, so the law does not require your consent and they are not affected by your analytics choice.

NameWhat it doesHow long
sb-…-auth-tokenKeeps you signed in (our authentication provider, Supabase). Large sessions are split across numbered copies such as .0 and .1.Up to 400 days, renewed while you use Measure
mp-active-projectRemembers which project you are viewing in the dashboard.1 year
sidebar_stateRemembers whether the dashboard sidebar is open or collapsed.7 days
measure-theme-v2 (local storage)Remembers your light or dark theme choice.Until you clear it
measure:cookie-consent (local storage)Remembers your answer to the analytics question above.Until you clear it or change it
measure:hero-prompt, measure:tool-lead (local storage)Holds a prompt or brand you typed on the homepage or a free tool, so we can carry it into sign-up. Stays on your device until used.Until you clear it
measure:setup-… (local storage)Remembers that you dismissed or collapsed the setup checklist for a project.Until you clear it

3. Analytics (only with your consent)

If you accept, we use PostHog (PostHog, Inc.; see our sub-processors) to understand how Measure is used and to find and fix errors. Traffic is sent through our own /ingest path rather than directly from your browser to a third-party domain.

NameWhat it doesHow long
ph_…_posthog (cookie and local storage)An anonymous identifier so repeat visits count as one visitor; once you sign in, it is linked to your account so we can see how the product is used. Also holds session and campaign details.Up to 1 year

With analytics on, we record pages viewed, features used, errors, and session replays in which text typed into form fields is masked. With analytics off, none of this is collected, no analytics identifier is stored, and PostHog does not record you.

4. Service events on our servers

Separately from cookies, our servers record operational events needed to run, secure and bill the service, for example that a scan finished or a plan changed. They use no cookies or device storage and are not controlled by the analytics choice. We process them on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure, working service; see the Privacy Policy.

5. Other companies' cookies

Some actions take you to another company’s site, which sets its own cookies under its own policy: paying by card (Stripe) and signing in with or connecting Google (including read-only Search Console and Analytics). We do not control those cookies.

6. Changes & contact

If we add a new kind of cookie we will update this page and, where consent is needed, ask you again. Questions: hello@measure.co.
