Capabilities

What it does

Page check

Title, meta description, robots, Open Graph, image alt, canonical, redirect chain and mixed content for any public https URL. Findings are ranked critical, warning or info, most severe first, and each one says how to fix it.

Hreflang and structured data

Catches invalid or duplicate hreflang codes, a missing self link, a missing x-default on 3 or more locales, and alternates that are broken or don't link back. JSON-LD is checked for parse errors and the required fields of 16 schema.org types.

Sitemap and robots.txt

Finds your sitemap through robots.txt or /sitemap.xml, then flags http and cross-host URLs, missing lastmod and duplicates. Files over 512 KB are read in part and marked partial. A sample of 20 URLs is fetched live to flag 404s, redirects and noindex.

Content briefs

Reads up to 8 pages from Google's current top 10 for a query, or your own list, and returns the sections they cover with how many pages use each, a word count floor, schema types and terms two or more pages use. A Google lookup adds People Also Ask. Writing rules for AI citation come with every brief.

SERP gap

Puts one of your pages next to up to 6 ranking competitors and lists the sections, terms, schema and questions they cover that you don't. Pages under 70% of the competitor median length are flagged as thin, and a Google top 10 lookup adds zero-click risk from AI Overviews and forum or social results.

Internal link graph

Crawls up to 150 pages on your domain and maps inbound links, click depth and word count per page, plus broken internal links. With Search Console connected, it suggests source-to-target links with anchor text for queries ranking 8 to 20.

How it works

Three steps, start to finish

  1. Step 1: Pick a page, query or start URL

Paste the URL to check, the query you want to rank for, or where a crawl should start. Leave the sitemap or start URL empty and Measure uses your project's domain.

  2. Step 2: Measure reads the live pages

It fetches the raw HTML of your page and any competitors you list, or pulls Google's current top 10 for the query. Most checks take seconds, and a crawl stops after 60 seconds.

  3. Step 3: Fix, brief and link

Work through findings by severity, hand the brief to a writer or to Agent M, and add the suggested internal links. Run the check again to confirm the fix landed.

The details

The specifics

Engines, data sources, cadence and plan limits, stated as the product works today.

Where it lives
The Technical SEO and Internal Links pages in the app. Agent M and the MCP server can run the same six checks.
Data sources
Live HTML of your pages and competitor pages, Google organic results via DataForSEO for your project's location, and Google Search Console (read-only) for link targets.
Credits
Page, sitemap and internal link checks use none. A Google top 10 lookup for a brief or SERP gap costs 1 credit and is cached for 7 days. Your own competitor URLs are free.
Limits
Crawls cover up to 150 pages on one host. Briefs read up to 8 pages, SERP gap compares up to 6 competitors, sitemap checks follow up to 5 child sitemaps, and hreflang return links are checked for the first 10 alternates.
Run limits
On demand. Shares a per-minute limit with page audits: 6 runs on Starter, 12 on Pro, 24 on Advanced. A fresh Google top 10 lookup counts as one extra run.
Plans
Included on Starter ($89), Pro ($199) and Advanced ($499). Enterprise is custom.
FAQ

Common questions

Does Measure's technical SEO check render JavaScript?

No. Measure reads the raw HTML each page returns. Content, headings and links that JavaScript adds after load are not counted in the page check, the content brief, the SERP gap or the internal link crawl.

How much does a content brief or SERP gap cost in Measure?

When Measure pulls Google's current top 10 for your query, the lookup costs 1 credit and the results are cached for 7 days, so running the same query again in that window is not charged. If you paste your own competitor URLs (up to 8 for a brief, up to 6 for a SERP gap), it costs nothing.

Do Measure's internal link recommendations need Google Search Console?

Yes. Measure takes target pages from your connected Search Console: queries ranking in positions 8 to 20 with at least 30 impressions in the last 28 days. It then finds crawled pages that use more than a third of the query's terms but don't link to the target yet. Without Search Console, the link graph still works.

Does Measure write the content brief for me?

No. Measure returns the evidence a brief needs: the sections ranking pages cover and how many use each, the median word count as a floor, schema types, terms two or more pages use, questions and People Also Ask, plus writing rules for AI citation. A writer, or Agent M, turns that into the outline.

How does Measure's SERP gap decide what is missing?

By term overlap, not meaning. Measure compares your page's headings, terms, schema and questions with up to 6 ranking pages, and flags the page as thin when it is under 70% of the competitors' median word count. A missing heading may already be covered in other words, so treat it as a lead, not a verdict.
